Many of the upcoming Landsmót competitors tested the oval track of Fákur horse club in Reykjavík, the soon to be Landsmót arena, this passing week!
The first tickets to Landsmót might have been handed out last Friday, when many of Iceland’s best tölters rode their preliminary programs at Reykjavíkurmeistaramót Fáks. Only 30 spots are available to the best tölters of Iceland to compete in Landsmót’s T1 preliminary. Those spots are earned by competing at one of Iceland's sports competitions, and the very first one this year was held at the home of Landsmót 2018.
Right now the superb Júlía frá Hamarsey joined with her rider Jakob Svavar Sigurđursson are in the lead of the top 30 tölt list, with the score of 8,73. 2nd on the list is this year’s winner of the Master League, Árni Björn Pálsson and Ljúfur frá Torfunesi with the score of 8,27. 3rd place is owned by Jakob Svavar and Konsert frá Hofi, a world record holder in 4 year old stallions breeding evaluation. Their score is 7,87.
This line-up sure does sound exciting! Still, anything can happen and the next few weeks will be quite exciting, with sport and Gćđinga competitions starting all over Iceland along with breeding shows.
