Iceland Express, the Icelandic Equestrian Association (Landssamband hestamannafélaga - LH) and Landsmót (LM) have signed an agreement of cooperation and sponsorship for the next two
years. Iceland Express will support Iceland‘s National Team for participation at the Nordic Championship in Sweden in August 2012 and the World Championship in Berlin in 2013.
In addition Iceland Express, LH and LM will work together in bringing foreign visitors to the Landsmót taking place in Reykjavik between 25th of June and 1st of July this coming summer. Three
to five thousand foreigners are expected to come from the Nordic countries, other European countries and North America. Around one thousand horses will compete and be on display at the
Landsmót.
More and more Icelanders partisipate at the World Championship and an estimated three thousand people will go from Iceland to Berlin next year. Icelanders have done well in previous Championships and
are proud of their five times world champion in „tölt“.
All three parties, Iceland Express, LH and LM, will cooperate together in strengthening Icelandic tourism by introducing the great Icelandic horse to the world. The global popularity of the Icelandic
horse is still growing and this unique animal has played an important role in introducing Iceland to a large population of people in other countries.
