"It feels like I´m 3 meters tall ," said 21-year-old World Champion and Landsmót winner Konráđ Valur Sigursson when we took his pulse after he won the 100m pace yesterday – and got confirmation that he had set a new world record in the 250 meters pace on Friday .
"I have been aiming for this for a long time and it did not come as a surprise that I managed to set a new record,” says Konráđ Valur, who works and trains at Laugavellir in Borgarfjördur. The new world champion is only 21 years old, but is already aiming higher and wants to set a new record at the Islandsmót on July 18-22nd in Víđidalur. He will also compete at the World Cup in Berlin next year.
"I'm looking for a good horse for the World Cup, I´m looking at all kinds of possibilities, but I'm also open to all good tips!"
