,,The mark is set on gæðingakeppnina, A- and B- class“ says Friðdóra Friðriksdóttir in Hlíðarþúfur, Hafnarfirði. Friðdóra and her husband Sindri Sigurðsson have many great horses in their stable. ,,Húmvar from Hamrahóll and Spölur from Hafsteinsstaðir will probably be set up in the B- class. Vikar from Torfastaðir, Sturla from Hafsteinsstaðir and Hrannar from Þorlákshöfn in the A- class. We have very good A- class horses now this year and we are looking forward to this spring and summer“.
They also have few breeding horses, promising Parkersson from Vatnsleysa and very good mares sired by Hágangur from Narfastaðir and Óttar from Hvítárholt. ,,We have more very exciting horses, but not yet decided where to take them, that will clear out very soon, the Landsmót is coming up“.
Along with training, Friðdóra and Sindri, have also teached and assist teenagers and young people with their horses for the Landsmót this summer. „At a Landsmots-year there is a lot of demand for riding instruction so we have a lot to do at the moment teaching young people who aim high at the Landsmot competition. This time of year it is very lively at the stables and every rider tries to do his best training his horse before Landsmot, says Friðdóra.
