Transport to Skagafjörður is easy.

Highway no. 1 runs straight from Reykjavík to the small village of Varmahlíð in Skagafjörður. Once you are there, there is no chance that you will miss the showgrounds at Vindheimamelar. At the picture here below you can see how Highway no. 1 runs around our island.

The distance from Reykjavík to the village Varmahlíð in Skagafjörður is about 295 km . So by car it takes about 3 1/2 hours to get there from Reykjavik. We recommend the service of Hertz - auto rental, one of our main sponsors.

Public transportation
Public transport is also available around Iceland, with daily buses from the Reykjavík Bus Terminal to Varmahlíð, Skagafjörður.

Domestic flight to Skagafjordur
You can fly to the village Saudarkrokur in Skagafjordur with the Ernir airline. The flight takes about 40 minutes. Once in the village Saudarkrokur you need to drive or take the Bus to the showgrounds, Vindheimamelar, about 25 km.
