Day of Culture and Breeding in Skagafjörður

On Sunday, July 12, following Landsmót, visitors are invited to experience the rich horse-breeding traditions and cultural heritage of Skagafjörður through a series of open-house events across the region.

We are currently finalizing the list of participating farms and cultural sites, with approximately ten locations expected to take part. The program will begin at around 10:00 a.m. with visits to farms in the vicinity of Hólar and the Landsmót venue. Additional open houses will then commence at hourly intervals at farms and cultural attractions located throughout Skagafjörður.

The schedule is designed to allow guests to conclude their stay at Landsmót, begin their journey home, and enjoy visits to renowned horse-breeding farms and cultural landmarks along the way.

The full list of participating locations and detailed program information will be published on June 15.

We look forward to welcoming you to Skagafjörður for a memorable day celebrating Icelandic horse breeding, local culture, and rural hospitality.
