Hólar University and Skagfirðingur Formalise Partnership for Landsmót 2026

Hólmfríður Sveinsdóttir, Rector of Hólar University and Elvar Einarsson, Chairman of the Skagfirðingur Equestrian Club, formalise the partnership

Landsmót 2026 will be held on the grounds of the Equine Studies Department at Hólar University, making close cooperation between the university and the event essential. This partnership has proven to be highly successful, and to formally confirm the collaboration and document all practical arrangements, Hólmfríður Sveinsdóttir, Rector of Hólar University, and Elvar Einarsson, Chairman of the Skagfirðingur Equestrian Club, recently signed an agreement covering the use of the competition grounds and facilities. Skagfirðingur is responsible for organising this summer's Landsmót at Hólar.

The close collaboration with Hólar University and its highly experienced staff is invaluable to the successful staging of Landsmót. At the same time, the organisers hope the event will further strengthen Hólar's position as a leading centre for education, horsemanship, and expertise in the breeding, training, and management of the Icelandic horse.
