Íbishóll wins the BreedingFarm showcase again

Twelve breeding farms took to the main arena last night, delivering an impressive showcase of Icelandic horse breeding.

Voting took place through the HorseDay app, and Íbishóll once again emerged as the winning breeding farm. Íbishóll also claimed the title at the 2024 National Icelandic Horse Championships in Reykjavík.

All of the horses presented on behalf of Íbishóll trace back to Ósk frá Íbishóli, a daughter of the farm’s foundation broodmare, Gnótt frá Ytra-Skörðugili.

Silkidrengur is out of Stilling frá Íbishóli, a daughter of Óskasteinn. Seytla and Óskamey are full sisters by Óskasteinn out of Seyla frá Efra-Langholti. Seytla has earned several outstanding marks in breeding assessments, including 10.0 for slow tölt and 10.0 for spirit and willingness, as well as 9.5 for tölt, trot, and pace. Their maternal half-sister Birta is by Snillingur.

Höfðingi (4 years old), Fótur (7 years old), and Gljásteinn are all full brothers by Óskasteinn out of Gletta frá Íbishóli, a daughter of Galsi. Both Gljásteinn and Píla have received 9.5 for pace in breeding evaluations.

The final highlight of the presentation was the six-year-old Flygill, who has earned 9.5 for both slow tölt and tölt.
