Jóhanna Margrét Snorradóttir receives the Gregersen Statuette

Jóhanna Margrét Snorradóttir was awarded the Gregersen Statuette at Landsmót Hestamanna 2026 at Hólar in Hjaltadal. Throughout the event, Jóhanna presented a number of horses and distinguished herself through outstanding horsemanship, professionalism, and exemplary care of her horses.

The Gregersen Statuette is awarded in memory of Ragnar Gregersen, who was regarded as a role model among horsemen for his exceptional care of his horses, impeccable appearance, and exemplary sportsmanship. The award is one of the most prestigious honours presented at Landsmót and recognises the values that define true horsemanship, both in and out of the arena.

The statuette is presented to the rider who excels in the A or B Gæðingur classes while demonstrating exemplary horsemanship on an exceptionally well-groomed and well-cared-for horse. The recipient is selected by the judges in consultation with the event director.

By presenting the Gregersen Statuette, Landsmót honours a rider who embodies outstanding riding skills, professionalism, respect for the horse, and the values that Ragnar Gregersen championed throughout his life.
