Landsmót 2026 Has Begun!

Landsmót 2026 has officially begun at Hólar in Hjaltadal, and the first participants have already entered the tracks.

The Children's Class competition is now underway in the main arena, where young riders are competing, while judging of 4-year-old mares is taking place on the breeding track. The opening day has gotten off to a great start, with excitement building among competitors, visitors, and the many volunteers who make the event possible.

The sun is shining in Hjaltadalur, creating a wonderful atmosphere for both competitors and spectators as everyone enjoys the long-awaited start of Landsmót in the beautiful surroundings of Hólar.

An exciting and diverse programme lies ahead, featuring top-class competitions, breeding assessments, spectacular exhibitions, and many other attractions that make Landsmót a truly unique celebration for Icelandic horse enthusiasts from around the world.

Competition results are available in the HorseDay app, and a live broadcast of the event can be watched on Eiðfaxi TV.
