Preparations for Landsmót Going Well – Campsites Are Now Open!

The countdown to Landsmót 2026 at Hólar in Hjaltadal has truly begun, and preparations are progressing well. Staff, contractors, and a large team of volunteers have been working tirelessly over the past few days to ensure everything is ready for the start of the event.

We are pleased to announce that the powered camping spots are now open. Electricity has been connected to all power outlets, and the sanitary facilities are fully operational, allowing guests who have reserved a powered spot to settle in comfortably.

The general campsites are also open and ready to welcome visitors. Guests planning to arrive early are encouraged to follow the guidance of our staff upon arrival and choose their camping spot according to the campsite layout.

There is a great sense of excitement around the event grounds as the final preparations are being completed for the biggest celebration of the Icelandic horse. The days ahead will be filled with exciting competitions, breeding shows, a varied entertainment programme presented by Lífland, and a fantastic atmosphere. 

We look forward to warmly welcoming visitors, riders, and volunteers to Hólar for what promises to be a memorable Landsmót 2026.
